All-city tour “The City by the Krasniy Yar” (3 hours)
“Krasniy Yar” can be literally translated as the ”Red Steep Hill”, and this is exactly the place where the first settling was founded in 1628. Through the years, it grew into a busy financial and cultural centre, and is now the third biggest city in Siberia. The all-city tour brings you to the most significant places of Krasnoyarsk’s past and present. You will visit the city’s historical centre, Nicolay the Second Museum on the “Saint Nicolas” boat where the last Russian emperor enjoyed the trip along the Yenisey river, take a look at the most beautiful streets, the “White Horse” monument and the romantic square with the sand-glass devoted to the Loving Couple. Enjoy the view of the city skyline from the top of the Karaulnaya Mountain where you find two other major attractions: one of Krasnoyarsk symbols, the Chapel of Saint Paraskeva Pyatnitsa, and a real cannon that fires a shot each noon.
“Up to the Land of Fantastical Rocks” (5 hours. For additional charge, the bus takes you to the starting point of the mountain path. In this case, the duration of the tour is 3 hours)
The tour to the magnificent nature reserve Stolby with the unique rocks naturally shaped into fantastic forms and attracting mountain climbers from Krasnoyarsk and other regions. The tour involves long distance walking and may be physically challenging. However, the beauty of the rocks and the taiga forest, the sound of birds singing, and the fun of the picnic breaks during which you may try to climb up the rocks, create an unforgettable joyful experience.
“Divnogorsk. Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Station (Dam)”
Divnogorsk is a small town 40 kilometers away from Krasnoyarsk which is situated on the picturesque rocky bank of the Yenisey river not far from the outfall of the small but impetuous Mana river. On the way to the town we will stop at the sightseeing ground built on the top of a hill to enjoy the unparalleled panoramic view over the Yenisey river, the mountains covered by the taiga forest and the caves. The ground features a statue of the giant fish which is a monument to the famous novel “Czar-ryba” written by the renowned Krasnoyarsk writer, Viktor Astafyev. From the sightseeing ground you may see Astafyev’s native village, Ovsyanka. Finally, the tour leads you to Krasnoyarsk Hydroelectric Power Station, one of the most impressive energy stations in the world supplying 6 MW of power. You can hear the history of the Dam’s construction and learn some interesting details of its operation. The scenery around the Dam is remarkable offering the views of the river before and after it reaches the Dam.
In the summertime, we offer a river tour on the cruise ship along the Yenisey to Divnogorsk. The tour continues for 2 to 3 hours and does not include a visit to the Dam.
Fun-park “Bobroviy Log” (3 hours)
All-season fun-park “Bobroviy Log” (“The Beaver’s Ravine”) invites you to take part in the numerous activities for the whole family! Surrounded by the Kuysumskie mountains with the grand Takmak rock, fun-park offers the numerous attractions testing your physical shape or giving you the pleasure of contemplation. Rope-ways, roller-coasters, open-air climbing facilities, high-rise rope constructions, service centre “Oasis??”, and ski slopes for various levels of training.
A Road to the Temple (3 hours)
An excursion featuring Krasnoyarsk’s churches, chapels and other sites of religious and historical value. You will learn a lot about the traditions of Christianity in Russia and in Siberia and explore the sacred places and objects giving our land its unique spirit.
“A Talent born in Siberia” (3 hours)
One of the most prominent people ever born in Krasnoyarsk was Vasiliy Surikov, a famous Russian painter of the end of the 19th-beginnig of the 20th century. His major pieces are among the most outstanding paintings in Russia. During this excursion tourists visit the house where he lived which is now a museum possessing over a hundred of Surikov’s paintings. Then the tour continues to the Surikov Art Museum with even more art works. Some other sites related to life and art of the great painter are also featured (the visits to Surikov’s house and to the museum are charged extra).
“In Memoriam: Viktor Astafyev” (4 hours)
The place worth of visiting, Ovsyanka, a native village of one of Russia’s most renowned writers, Viktor Astafyev who was born in Krasnoyarsk and was inspired by Siberian nature in all his works. You will stop at the top of the mountain on the way to the village to see the sightseeing ground with the monument to Astafyev’s novel, “Czar-ryba”, then walk through the memorial complex including the author’s house and the house of his grandmother, and visit one of the biggest libraries ever collected in the Russian countryside. You would not want to miss Ovsyanka’s church of Saint Innokentiy Irkutskiy whose restoration was possible owing to the efforts and generous participation of Viktor Astafyev. Another valuable experience provided by this excursion is connected to the fact that Ovsyanka is not a reserve place, but a real village with the Russian peasants whose day-to-day life you will manage to observe.
“Krasnoyarsk in the Second World War” (3 hours)
Describing the life of Siberian city during the Second World War which became for Russian citizens their own Great Patriotic War, this tour tells you the story of our heroes. You will visit the Memorial Museum, an Alley of Glory, the train station which saw the trains sending soldiers to War and bringing some of them back after it was over, and the monuments built in the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the happiness of future generations.
“Water Enchantment” (3 hours)
Krasnoyarsk was recently turned into a “City of 100 of fountains”. This tour introduces you to the most beautiful of them (the season when the fountains are active is from May 9 to the end of September).
“Animal Planet” (3 hours)
This excursion is an exciting experience for kids and for all those who finds it interesting to observe the animal life. Krasnoyarsk’s Park of Flora and Fauna “Royev Ruchey” is a home for various animals and birds, including the white bears, zebras, giraffes, and many others. Beautiful rare plants are cultivated here as well. After the walk, you may visit the other park’s attractions, including the big dipper (the visits to the Park and its attractions are charged extra).
The Museums of Krasnoyarsk.
Built in 1628, the city has a rich history and cultural heritage. This tour introduces you to the museums of Krasnoyarsk and gives an opportunity to visit some of them. The most popular among tourists are Surikov’s estate-museum and the Museum of Krasnoyarsk Region, but our guide will tell you about much more of city’s museums, and you may choose to visit other ones as well.
